On the 23rd of August, the Alpha Mining Season of the Pickaxe Master will have it’s debut in the Sandbox live map. Now the time has arrived and the most epic Miners are about to be forged!

The Alpha Mining Season will be a special one, not only because it’s the first one, but also because most implementations will occur during this season. For that reason, it will last 3 months until 23rd of November. With your feedback we’ll make sure that the Mining Seasons are fine tuned for it’s long term format.

There will be 18 different leaderboards that you can rank on, including Free to Play and many gated leaderboards for Pickaxe and Avatar Owners — Everyone is included!

With a grand total of 5000 SAND distributed across these Leaderboards, you will have plenty of chances to get SAND prizes. In fact you can rank in #1 Place in all the leaderboards, but you can also count with some heavy competition along the way. Fear not, even if you don’t end in #1 Place, there will be rewards for the remaining rankings that will make your Mining Cart full!

2 — Highscores.

For the Alpha Mining Season, the Leaderboard system will be run manually with the help of the Moderators and Ore Collectors — The highscores will be updated in our website https://thepickaxemaster.io/ and will show the complete rankings of all the players. Additionally you can consult the Top 10 in the Discord too.

For you to register your Highscore, you will need to take a screenshot of your inventory, showing the amount of mined resources, as shown in the picture below.

Once you have your screenshot showing your inventory and Username, post it on Twitter using the hashtag #AlphaMiningSeason and #TheSandbox.

To finalize your Highscore submission, please fill this Google Form — https://forms.gle/2KRC4KC7HiQnBxk1A

Every time you play and you break your own personal record at any resource, you can re-submit your highscore through the same process.

In case you don’t want to post to many Tweets, you can also post multiple screenshots on the same Twitter post, they all will count.

There are a total of 18 different Leaderboards, some are free to enter, others require a NFT to participate. So let’s break it down.

3 — Leaderboards.

3.1 — Free to Play.

The Free to Play Leaderboards are an inclusive competition where everyone can get involved in the game. While it has no requirements to participate, it gives the chance to earn SAND in 12 different categories.

The Free to Play categories are for the “Best Miners”, which consists on the total amount of mined Resources, being each resource it’s own category.

The Leaderboards will be displayed by Resource, make sure to get a good score on each one!

There are 200 SAND of this prize pool and anyone can get it, so come and DIG IT!

3.2 — Individual — Pickaxe Owners.

For the Individual Mining Rankings, your final Highscore is based on the sum of all the mined resources altogether. Meaning that the results obtained from the “Best Miner” categories will be added together, in the end, a final Highscore will be obtained.

Each resource has it’s own value, let’s see how much each resource is worth for the final score:

· Coal — 0.5 Points
· Iron — 1 Point
· Copper — 2.5 Point
· Silver Ore — 5 Points
· Silver Nugget —10 Points
· Gold Ore — 25 Points
· Gold Nugget — 50 Points
· Emerald — 100 Points
· Sapphire — 200 Points
· Ruby — 400 Points
· White Diamond — 800 Points
· Blue Diamond — 1600 Points

Knowing that the final Highscore is the total of points from all the Resource categories, you want to make sure that you got a good score in each of those Leaderboards — Every point counts!

On the Individual Rankings, there are 5 different Leaderboard Tiers. Each Mining Tier is tied to the Rarity of the Pickaxe NFT, which gives access to it’s own Tier and all the previous ones:

You need to own a Pickaxe NFT at the end of the Season to be eligible for the prize distribution.

To participate in the Individual Mining Ranking, it requires a Pickaxe NFT from this collection: https://www.sandbox.game/en/collections/the-pickaxe-master/169/

3.3 — Clan — Avatar Owners.

The Clan Rankings are reserved for Pickaxe Master Avatar owners, being the Lucky Miners the first to participate.

Players can participate by having an Original or a Loaned Avatar in their wallets.

The Final Clan Highscore is calculated based on the sum of all the Individual Rankings from the Clan members. That number is divided by the number of eligible Clan members, and then multiplied by the number of Clan participants during the Season. — This will be your Final Clan Highscore.
Important — There must be at least 5 Clan members participating with an Avatar to be elegible for the Clan leaderboard.

Example:
Clan A has 25 members. Out of those 25 members, 15 were eligible and only 10 participated with the following results:
— Player 1: 75 Points
— Player 2: 178 Points
— Player 3: 732 Points
— Player 4: 491 Points
— Player 5: 235 Points
— Player 6: 167 Points
— Player 7: 43 Points
— Player 8: 1146 Points
— Player 9: 628 Points
— Player 10: 342 Points

- Clan Total Points: 4037
— Total Eligible Clan Members:
15 Members.
— Clan Average Score:
4037/15 = 269.13 Points
— Participation Member Bonus:
10 Members
— Final Clan Score:
269.13 x 10 = 2691.3 Points

Clan Leaders are able to whitelist which Clan Rankings are eligible to participate, this affects directly the Total Eligible Clan Member count. Clan Leaders can use this wisely to their advantage and grow the Clan.

The SAND prize distribution within the Clan Members, it will depend on the type of structure the Clan Leader has decided.

There are the following types of Clan Structures/Governing forms:

Example:
Clan A is a Department type of Clan.
The Clan Leader decided that the Eligible Clan Members to participate in the competition are only for Unit Leader rank and above. This allows the Clan Leader to optimize the Clan expansion without compromising the Leaderboard rankings.

If your Clan ends up in one of the prized rankings, depending on your position within the Clan Structure, you’ll be eligible to receive the according SAND prizes.

There is a total of 2400 SAND prize pool that will be won by the best Clans.

Once a Player scores for the first time in the Clan Rankings, he will count as an active Player from it’s respective Clan. Players can have 1 Clan transfer per season. If a Player hasn’t scored yet, he doesn’t have restrictions to transfer from Clan to Clan.

If a player gets transferred in the middle of the Season, his previous Highscore will remain as a contribution to it’s former Clan and the points will not be transferred to the new Clan. His Highscore at the new clan will start from the beginning.

If his previous Clan ends in a Prized Ranked Place, the Player won’t be eligible to win SAND as he now is part of a new Clan.

While off-Season, all Player transfers are valid and without limits.

You need to own a Pickaxe Master Avatar (Original or rented) and be part of a Clan at the end of the Season to be eligible for the prize distribution.
